Classic Skynyrd...
At the OC Fair on a warm Friday night, a legendary Southern Rock group took the stage in front of a packed crowd. Johnny Van Zant appeared in high spirits, leading the band with a surge of energy. The standing crowd immediately embraced the performance from the very first song. Singing along word for word, the majority of the hits from the band's four-decade career resonated with the audience, who grew more enthralled with each tune. The show was a nostalgic journey through the band's history, with Gary Rossington as the sole remaining original member playing full time, sharing anecdotes from the past that engaged the crowd. The concert moved swiftly, with songs seamlessly transitioning one after the other. Memorable moments included the crowd favorites "Sweet Home Alabama" and the encore performance of "Free Bird." The flawless execution of the songs, impressive guitar solos, and the skilled piano player paying homage to the late Billy Powell all contributed to an unforgettable end to the summer concert series. This band continues to impress even after forty years!
